Do you remember what it was like learning to throw a baseball? Looking back, it's hard to remember the whole process. That's because it didn't happen overnight. Your skills grew each season, year after year. With plenty of practice.
First, throwing in the right direction, next distance, then accuracy, finally -- fast and hard. Doing the right things, over and over. Until turning a double play is still exciting, but not a total surprise! Every spring you start out a little rusty, even now. Small adjustments are always needed, as you reach for your best.
The patterns of learning baseball skills are kind of like your annual citrus nutritional needs. You plan your 3 or 4 main sprays. But continue taking tissue samples, to gauge where things stand. And then adjust your supplements as needed, throughout the year.
Microdeficiencies Aren't Trivial
Micronutrients are a substantial part of those needs. They are essential nutrients needed in small quantities. Micro deficiencies in citrus are very common and critical. And directly related to both crop yield and disease resistance.
Of special concern for citrus are zinc, manganese, iron and boron (Zn, Mg, Fe and B). Growth Product's MicroTech 4-0-0 AG's got 'em all. Plus kelp, auxins and cytokinins.
So when you spray your summer oil, make sure you're addressing the micro deficiencies in your crop with MicroTech AG. If you're using the proper levels of micros, you'll increase citrus health - and ultimately increase your productivity.
Micros And So Much More...
The nitrogen already in MicroTech AG allows penetration into the leaf and aids in micronutrient uptake. You won't need to add any more nitrogen fertilizers to make this happen. And the humic acid in MicroTech AG enhances nutrient availability in both the soil and the leaf.
MicroTech AG also includes Jasmonic acid. It's a naturally occurring hormone, a phytohormone, that plants make to defend themselves from insect damage. Jasmonic acid supports the plant's Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR) to diseases.
Chelation allows the micronutrient metals, like iron and zinc, to get to where they need to go in the plant. MicroTech AG uses sugar-based chelation - glucoheptonate. Sugar based chelates are the most effective transporters, especially under alkaline conditions.
Use Throughout The Year
Use MicroTech AG four times per year. Use 2-4 quarts/acre as needed. With each of your applications:
Bud Induction
Pre-Bloom
Post Bloom
1st Summer Oil
2nd Summer Oil
Early Fall
Take leaf tissue samples regularly and correct your minor deficiencies with MicroTech AG. Application rates are always flexible to the needs of your crops. You just adjust to what the tests show. It's so easy to tank mix with your summer oil and copper of June and July.
Fix the micronutrient deficiencies in your grove throughout the year with Growth Products' MicroTech 4-0-0 AG. Make sure the fruit you've worked so hard to set, sticks.
