Companion® Biological Fungicide is a practical, versatile, and environmentally sound product that is used for broad spectrum disease prevention, control and suppression. As the first EPA-registered liquid biofungicide in the U.S. market, Companion is revolutionizing growers' ideas about disease control and sustainability.
Companion can protect your crops from start to finish, from initial seed germination, to plug production, to field transplant to final harvest. Trials at the University of California Davis, the University of Arizona, and at Pacific Ag Research in California have shown increased disease control when Companion is used with reduced rates of many chemical fungicides. Used alone, tank-mixed with other fungicides, or in rotation with chemical fungicides, Companion can also prevent the development of disease resistance.
Companion Liquid or Dry Concentrate contains the active ingredient Bacillus subtilis GB03, a naturally occurring rhizosphere bacterium that quickly colonizes the root hairs of all food crops. It lives on the root and foliage, protecting the plant from soil borne pathogens, root rot diseases, and foliar disease by producing a strong broad-spectrum antibiotic that desiccates the pathogen.
Unlike chemical fungicides, Companion triggers a plant's natural immune system, producing an Induced Systemic Resistance (ISR) and Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR) to ward off disease. Companion also produces auxin-like metabolites that promote increased root mass and branching, ultimately resulting in better roots, better crop quality, and higher yields.
